Hüseyin Zeybek appointed to Parliamentary Committee investigating OPEKEPE scandal
The Hellenic Parliament has established a special Investigative Committee to examine the scandal involving OPEKEPE (Payment and Control Agency for Guidance and Guarantee Community Aid). Among its members is Hüseyin Zeybek, MP for İskeçe representing the New Left Party.
According to the decision published on parliament’s official website, the committee will review the agency’s activities from its founding in 1998 to the present. Its mandate includes investigating the problems surrounding OPEKEPE’s operations, identifying any responsibilities, and contributing to the creation of a reliable, effective, and fair mechanism for agricultural subsidy payments.
The 31-member committee was formed based on lists submitted by parliamentary parties. The independent MP seat was allocated by lottery among those who applied.
