Hatim ceremonies in İskeçe conclude with event in Mizanlı
The İskeçe Mufti Office released an official statement on their website, summarizing the event as follows:
"The hatim ceremonies conducted by our Qur'an Courses for the 2023-2024 academic year concluded with the hatim in Mizanlı village on Sunday, September 1st, 2024. The ceremony was held with great enthusiasm and success, attended by our esteemed Mufti Mustafa Trampa, MP Burhan Baran, Mustafçova Mayor Ahmet Kurt, Deputy Regional President İrfan Hacıgene, Advisor to Bulustra Mayor Birol İncemehmet, Municipal and Regional Council Members, our religious officials, and a large number of Muslim Turks from surrounding villages.
The students of the Mizanlı Qur'an Course, taught by Remzi Selimkâhya, delivered an impressive performance, reciting the Qur'an, poems, and hymns, which were well received by the attendees.
The ceremony began with an opening speech and repentance prayer by Deputy Mufti Ahmet Hraloğlu. The successful ceremony, which lasted about an hour and a half, was concluded with a hatim prayer by our esteemed Mufti Mustafa Trampa. Following the prayer, Mufti Trampa gave a brief speech, congratulating the students, their teacher Remzi Selimkâhya, their families, and everyone involved in organizing the event.
After the Mufti’s speech, Mustafçova Mayor Ahmet Kurt, MP Burhan Baran, and Deputy Regional President İrfan Hacıgene each delivered a greeting. Lastly, the Mufti conveyed the greetings and best wishes of MP Hüseyin Zeybek, who could not attend, and Dr. Hüseyin Baltacı, President of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association.
Following the speeches, guests were served a traditional meal of rice with meat and ayran after the midday prayer."
