Hakan Çavuşoğlu, a prominent politician of Western Thrace origin and former Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey, has been appointed to the Presidential Legal Policy Council. The decision was made by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Çavuşoğlu announced his new role via a social media post.

In his message, Çavuşoğlu expressed his gratitude, saying:
“I would like to express my gratitude to our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, for entrusting me with the role of a member of the Presidential Legal Policy Council. With full awareness of this important duty, as always, we will continue to work tirelessly to serve our homeland and our noble nation.”

Born in 1972 in Delinasufköy, located in the Rodopi province of Western Thrace, Hakan Çavuşoğlu and his family migrated to Turkey, where they settled in Bursa. He pursued a law degree in Turkey, practiced as a lawyer, and became involved in politics. Çavuşoğlu held significant positions, including being a Member of Parliament, Deputy Prime Minister, and President of the Justice Commission in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. He gained attention for his work on issues affecting Turkish communities abroad. His roots in Western Thrace have played a crucial role in his focus on Turkish minority rights and diaspora policies.
