Hailstorm affects Yassıköy municipality
Hail and heavy rain damaged cultivated areas, especially cherry seedlings.
On Monday 1 May, rain and hail caused damage to cultivated areas, especially cherry seedlings, in the villages of Yassıköy municipality in Rhodope province.
Rhodope SYRIZA parliamentary candidate Özgür Ferhat, who visited the region after the hailstorm, made the following statement "Due to the hail, great damages occurred in our cherry groves centred in Eşekçili and Gebecili, one of our collar villages. I visited the region and personally conveyed my get well wishes to our producers. As the political representatives of our people waiting to be paid for the damages of the previous period, I declare that I will follow the progress and that we will reorganise the damage compensation in the new period. In 2017, our people have not forgotten the damage in the collar and who gave great support to the cherry producers at that time, thanks to them."
