Habipoğlu: 'Freedom of movement cannot be denied'
Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF) President Halit Habipoğlu reacted to the refusal to allow the President of the Istanbul-based Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association (BTTDD), which is a sister organisation, to enter Greece.
ABTTF President Halit Habipoğlu made a statement on the issue and said: "I convey our support to BTTDD President Hasan Küçük with regret that he was not allowed to enter Greece. It is unacceptable that our country Greece turned Küçük, who came to Greece to visit his homeland with his family, back at the border without any justification. A person's freedom of movement cannot be prevented, this is a human right. However, this situation is not the first time, we have witnessed many times in the past that our friends representing the Turkish community in Western Thrace were not allowed to enter Greece. Today we see that nothing has changed. The ban on entering the country continues, you are handed a form but you do not even know why you are not allowed to enter the country. You can be turned back from the border without any justification, and this in an EU country! What a pity!" he said.
