GTGB Elected General Assembly held with intense participation
The ordinary general assembly of Komotini Turkish Youth Union (GTGB) took place on Sunday, 12 May.
In the general assembly held at the GTGB clubhouse, Fehim Ahmet, Deputy Mufti of Komotini, was elected as the Chairman of the Divan Board, while Pervin Hayrullah, General Director of BAKEŞ, and Ali Süleyman were elected as clerks.
GTGB President Sedat Hasan took the floor at the general assembly and read the activity report. In his speech, Mr Hasan stated that there is a general opinion that Komotini Turkish Youth Union is the heart of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace. This general opinion imposes a great responsibility on us. The main objective of this historical organisation is to keep our youth in unity and solidarity both culturally and socially. The courses and activities we organise are also in this direction."
Günay Kenan Ahmet, Chairman of the Audit Committee, presented the audit report of the Association for the last two years.
Then the criticism and suggestions section started. In this section, Mustafa Ali Cavus, former president of the FEP Party and Ramadan Molla Ali, journalist and FEP Party candidate for the European Parliament, took the floor. Both speakers emphasised the importance of the European Parliament elections to be held on 9 June.
In the general assembly, a vote was held for the acquittal of the current management. The current management was acquitted unanimously.
After the voting, the nomination of the candidates for the board of directors and supervisory board was started.
A total of 554 members participated in the elections and cast their votes. 549 of the votes were considered valid. As a result of the voting, the votes received by the candidates for the board of directors and supervisory board are as follows:
