Grocery store robbery in Esekçili Village raises security concerns in Yaka Region
Late last night, a grocery store in Esekçili Village was robbed by unidentified individual(s). According to available information, the store belongs to Müjdat Kara Hasan, a well-known local political figure in the Yaka region, who has previously served multiple terms as Deputy Mayor and is currently a village council member (Azás) of Gebecili Village.
Reports indicate that the perpetrators initially attempted to force open the store’s main entrance. When unsuccessful, they reportedly removed the hinges on one side of the door to gain access to the premises.
Store Owner Describes the Incident
Speaking to MILLET Newspaper, store owner Müjdat Kara Hasan said the robbery occurred after midnight. He stated that the thieves ransacked the interior of the store and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.
Kara Hasan added that he immediately notified the police following the incident. Security forces arrived at the scene, conducted an on-site investigation, and initiated fingerprint analysis as part of the ongoing inquiry.
Residents Voice Growing Security Concerns
Residents of the Yaka region have expressed growing unease, noting an increase in thefts since police patrol units that previously conducted regular rounds in the area were recently reassigned to another city.
Local citizens are calling for enhanced security measures and the resumption of regular police patrols, stressing the need for greater protection amid rising criminal activity in the region.
