The congratulatory message published by the Friendship Equality Peace Party is as follows:
HAPPY JANUARY 10 WORKING JOURNALISTS DAY!
Today, January 10, is Working Journalists Day. Journalists, who ensure that the right of the public to receive news and are informed correctly, also contribute to the healthy functioning and strengthening of our democracy.
It should not be forgotten that journalists, who chase news day and night, illuminate our society under difficult conditions and with a sense of responsibility, while at the same time fulfilling an important public duty by reflecting the general demand and views of the society.
In today's world, where the speed of information spreading is increasing and news for disinformation is spreading rapidly, the existence of journalists who can read the developments in our region, our country and the world accurately, who can spread real information much faster by making use of technological opportunities, and who can decisively fight against fake news becomes much more important and valuable. .
With this in mind, the situation of Turkish minority journalists working in journalism becomes even more difficult and important.
Our members of the press, who carry out activities, are also the voice of our oppressed people in terms of announcing the injustices that our minority is exposed to the world public opinion.
For this reason, they are also subject to verbal and written attacks and injustice from time to time.
With these feelings and thoughts, we congratulate all our press members in our region, in our country and around the world, who act as a bridge between our citizens and the state and work day and night for this cause, and wish them health and peace.
