Family of Sadık Ahmet attends opening ceremony of new legislative year at Turkish Parliament
The family of the late Dr. Sadık Ahmet, leader of the Turkish Minority in Western Thrace, attended the opening reception of the new legislative year at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM).
Among the guests were Işık Sadık Ahmet, Honorary President of the DEB (Friendship, Equality, Peace) Party and widow of Dr. Sadık Ahmet, along with her son Levent Sadık Ahmet, Chairman of the Türkiye–Greece Business Council at the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK).
Following the reception, Işık Sadık Ahmet wrote on social media: “It was an honor to attend the Opening Reception of the 28th Legislative Term, 4th Session of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, together with my son Levent Sadık Ahmet. We sincerely thank Speaker of Parliament Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş and his wife Sevgi Kurtulmuş for their kind invitation.”
During the event, the Sadık Ahmet family also held talks regarding the recent issues faced by the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and conveyed their best wishes for success to Speaker Kurtulmuş in the new legislative term.
