Entry to some forest areas banned in the Rhodope region
In accordance with the decision taken by Nikos Chalikidis, Vice-President of the Rhodope Unit of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, entry to some forest areas is banned for today (Monday 28 August 2023) due to the high risk of new fires in the Rhodope region.
According to the decision taken, the areas in the Rhodope region where both pedestrians and vehicles are banned are as follows.
1- Nimfe forest in the Municipality of Komotini.
2- The forest area in the coastal area of Oake in Komotini Municipality.
3- The recreation area "Profiti Ilias" in the west of the settlement of Yassıköy in Yassıköy Municipality.
4- Alsos area located on the borders of Sapçı in the Municipality of Şapçı-Maronia.
5- Touristic forest area located in Imaret area of Şapçı-Maronia Municipality.
6- Coastal forest area in Imaret in the municipality of Şapçı-Maronya.
7- Coastal forest in Profiti Ilia in Imaret in the municipality of Şapçı-Maronia.
8- The forest of Kapsala coastal area in Imaret under the Municipality of Şapçı-Maronia.
9- The forest of the coastal area of Krioneri in the Municipality of Şapçı-Maronia.
