EMT regional employees trained in basic life support and AED use in Gümülcine
Employees of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (EMT) in Rhodope participated in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training on Wednesday morning, October 15, conducted by paramedics from EKAV Thrace.
During the five-hour session, participants were trained in cardiac function support and survival techniques for cardiac arrest victims. EKAV instructors provided hands-on demonstrations of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED use, combining theory with practical exercises at skill stations using training mannequins and defibrillator simulators.
The session also covered essential emergency response knowledge, equipping participants to handle life-threatening situations effectively.
EKAV regularly conducts continuing education programs for its personnel and healthcare professionals across the pre-hospital emergency care sector. These programs are updated in line with the latest scientific developments and aim to ensure the ongoing training of institutional staff and community groups in first aid and emergency response.
As part of this initiative, similar training sessions will be repeated in Komotini and extended to other cities in the EMT Region for additional public employees.
