Eastern Macedonia and Thrace welcomes diplomatic delegation from 22 foreign countries
In a strategic effort to boost international cooperation and economic outreach, the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (EMT), in collaboration with Enterprise Greece, is hosting a diplomatic mission of Economic and Commercial Attachés representing 22 foreign countries, all members of the ECDC Club, from May 21 to 23, 2025.
This visit marks the beginning of a new wave of initiatives launched by the regional administration to enhance extroversion, international partnerships, and economic interconnectivity in the region.
Enterprise Greece, operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is the official national body responsible for attracting foreign direct investment and promoting Greek exports. In partnership with the regional government, it also co-manages the Extroversion Office, aimed at advancing local entrepreneurship and fostering an investment-friendly environment in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
The official welcome ceremony for the diplomatic delegation will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., at the Evros Prefecture Hall in Alexandroupolis.
Following the event, the delegation will participate in site visits to various Regional Units and export-oriented local businesses, recognized for their outward-looking approach and international engagement.
This initiative highlights Eastern Macedonia and Thrace’s growing commitment to positioning itself as a gateway of international trade and cooperation in the Balkans and the broader Southeastern European region.
