Varvitsiotis made statements on a radio programme he participated in, on the question of whether the main opposition party, the Radical Left Alliance SYRIZA, exported the Greek government's spyware programme "Predator" to Sudan. Stating that it was seen from the news in the Greek press that "Predator" was exported to Sudan, Varvitsiotis said, "The civil war did not originate from this. SYRIZA is trying to create problems that do not exist."

Former Foreign Minister and SYRIZA MP Georgios Katrugalos, on the other hand, shared on his social media account upon Varvichyotis' statement, "It confirms that the Predator was sent and the country's indirect participation in the conflict."

"Did the Mitsotakis government indirectly involve our country in the civil war and the bloodshed?" the SYRIZA statement asked.

Clashes between the army and the NDF in SudanIn the morning of 15 April, armed clashes broke out between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary NDF in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, and in various cities. The disagreement between the army and the NDF over the last few months on the military security reform, which envisages the "full participation of the NDF in the army", had turned into a hot conflict. The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Army Commander General Abdulfettah al-Burhan had decided to dissolve the NEC, which was in conflict with the army, and declare it a rebel force against the state, and that it would be treated accordingly.

Volker Perthes, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Sudan, announced that the loss of life in the clashes in Sudan reached 185 and more than 1800 civilians and soldiers were injured.
