Damage reported at Karacaoğlan Turkish Minority Primary School

The Karacaoğlan Turkish Minority Primary School, located in the village of Karacaoğlan under the jurisdiction of the Kozlukebir Municipality in Western Thrace, has suffered significant damage caused by unknown individuals, according to local sources.

Initial reports indicate that the school’s main entrance, as well as classroom doors, cabinets, and radiators, were vandalized. In addition, bookshelves inside classrooms were overturned, with books scattered across the floors.

The incident was discovered earlier today, though the exact time of the damage and the identity of those responsible remain unknown. Upon learning of the incident, elected representatives of the village reportedly filed a complaint with the Sirkeli Police Station, informing law enforcement authorities.

Police units arrived at the school following the report and carried out on-site inspections, documenting the damage throughout the classrooms and school premises. An official report was filed, and an investigation is currently underway to determine both the cause of the attack and the perpetrators.

Authorities stated that further clarity regarding who carried out the act and for what purpose is expected following a detailed investigation. The incident has raised concern within the local community, particularly given the school’s role in providing education to the Turkish minority in the region.
