The two-day trip brought together participants traveling on two buses and aimed to strengthen cultural awareness and historical understanding through visits to major Ottoman and Islamic heritage sites in the Balkans.

During the program, participants visited the cities of Skopje and Tetovo, where they explored several important historical and cultural landmarks reflecting the region’s rich multicultural legacy.

One of the highlights of the tour was a visit to the world-renowned Painted Mosque, also known as the Alaca Mosque, famous for its distinctive Ottoman-era architecture and colorful interior decorations.

In Skopje, the group toured several historic monuments and mosques, including the Stone Bridge, Çarşı Mosque, Murat Pasha Mosque, Emir Hüseyin Shah Mosque, and Mustafa Pasha Mosque — all considered key symbols of the city’s Ottoman and Islamic heritage.

The cultural program concluded with a visit to the scenic Matka Canyon, one of North Macedonia’s most popular natural attractions known for its canyon landscapes, caves, and lakeside views.

Participants returned to Komotini after completing the two-day educational and cultural journey.
