Courtyard of the ruined Hemitli Mosque cleaned by volunteers

The courtyard of the Hemitli Mosque in İskeçe (Xanthi), which has been in ruins for many years, was cleaned by a group of volunteers as a result of the permission obtained the deputy Burhan Baran.

Xanthi deputy Burhan Baran thanked the members of the minority in Avdira Municipality and the deputy mayor for their assistance in obtaining the necessary permissions in his statement on the social media account.

The garden of the Hemitli Mosque was cleaned years ago, the repair work of the mosque was started, but the work was stopped as a result of the intervention of the appointed mufti (unrecognized by the minority) of the time. Recently, the damage to the minaret of the mosque drew attention, and different claims were made about this damage.
