Court ruling marks milestone in Egnatia Odos highway case

A Greek court decision has been described as a landmark ruling in a long-running legal case concerning the Egnatia Odos highway project.

The court acquitted the defendants involved in the case, which examined allegations related to financial losses and irregularities in construction works connected to the major northern Greek motorway.

The ruling comes after years of legal proceedings and hearings over accusations concerning the management and execution of highway projects. The court concluded that the evidence did not establish criminal responsibility for those accused.

The Egnatia Odos motorway is one of Greece’s most important transport corridors, connecting the western and eastern parts of northern Greece and serving as a key route for regional trade and mobility.
