Continuous progress made by the EMT Region in the absorption of the NSRF
The Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace holds the 3rd place among the 13 Regions of the country in the absorption of the NSRF 2014-2020 period in absolute numbers, with expenditure (final payments) reaching 398,946,268 €. In the last three months, it even achieved the highest expenditure among the 13 regions.

At the same time, the Region of EMT improves its position in the absorption rate of the NSRF and is now in 5th place from 8th at the end of 2022. Specifically, the absorption rate achieved by the Region of EMT on 31 March 2023 is 87.27%, up from 82.96% on 31 December 2022.
In parallel with the current NSRF, the Region of EMT has a high performance in the activation of calls for the new NSRF 2021-2027. Specifically, it has proceeded to issue 8 new calls with a budget of 118,916,666 €, which ranks it in 2nd place among the 13 regions of the country.
These figures are derived from the data of the first quarter of 2023 of the Ministry of Investment and Development, which were presented during a meeting held by the Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Mr. Christos Metios with the Head of the Special Management Service of the "Eastern Macedonia, Thrace" Programme Mr. Panagiotis Koudoumakis and the Heads of the Units of the Service, at the offices of the Service in Komotini.
Apart from the presentation and examination of the Ministry's data, the meeting also decided to hold visits and thematic meetings in all municipalities and institutions implementing projects funded by the NSRF, in order to accelerate the absorption of the current NSRF and the planning of new projects to be funded by the NSRF of the next programming period.

Preparation of studies for the Integrated Spatial Investment (ISI) of the "Rhodope Mountains and the River Nestos".
Elaboration of a Road Safety Plan at the level of the Region of AMTH for the period 2021-2027.
