Compensation to be paid to olive producers damaged in Meriç province!

Triantopoulos said that the Joint Council of Ministers Decision was signed approximately 7 months after the fires and that the damaged olive producers will receive compensation very soon.

Approximately 210,000 olive trees belonging to olive producers in the villages of Miri (Makri), Dikilitaş (Dikella) and Güvendik (Mesimvria) in Meriç province were completely burned or seriously damaged in the forest fires that broke out last August.

Deputy Minister Triandopoulos said that olive producers in Meriç province will deposit the money corresponding to 50% of the compensation they deserve, corresponding to 50 euros for each tree affected by the fire, to their bank accounts in the next few days.

It was noted that in order for the olive producers in Miri, Dikilitaş and Güvendik to receive full compensation, it will be determined after new checks to be carried out in the spring to determine whether the damage to each olive tree is complete.
