Community iftar brings together Turks of Western Thrace in Mehrikoz
The gathering attracted strong participation from local residents as well as visitors from nearby communities, highlighting messages of unity and solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan.
Iftar Held in Mosque Courtyard
Guests were welcomed in the courtyard of the village mosque, where the evening call to prayer was recited by religious official Ismail Ahmet. Participants then broke their fast together.
The iftar prayer was delivered by Nusrettin Ozturk, a cleric affiliated with the Presidency of Religious Affairs.
Messages of Unity and Eid Greetings
Following the meal, Ibrahim Serif addressed the participants, thanking those who contributed to organizing the event and extending his Eid al-Fitr greetings to the community.
Also speaking at the event was Adnan Ozturk, who conveyed the greetings of Aykut Unal. He invited members of the community to attend the Eid reception that will be held at the Turkish Consulate General on the first day of the holiday.
The program concluded with the evening prayer performed in the mosque.
Officials from the Consulate General of Türkiye in Gümülcine, regional members of parliament, local administrators, and many members of the Turkish minority community attended the gathering.
