Çilingir Neighborhood youth to organize a bazaar for earthquake victims
Earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 7.6, which were described as the "disaster of the century" in the motherland of Türkiye, on February 6, 2023, the center of which was Kahramanmaraş and caused the destruction of thousands of buildings in 10 provinces, some severe damage, as a result of which thousands of people lost their lives and thousands of people were injured.
The Western Thrace Turkish Minority gave great support to the aid campaigns initiated to heal the wounds of the earthquake victims, whose houses and property were damaged in the earthquakes.
Turks living in Komotini, Xanthi, and Meriç provinces showed great interest in the campaigns organized to collect food, clothing, and financial aid.
The fact that young people came to the fore in aids gathered under the roof of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board, elected mufti and dozens of non-governmental organizations made solidarity and cooperation even more meaningful.
The struggle and aid mobilization of young people for earthquake victims continues throughout Western Thrace. After Xanthi, a bazaar will be held in the Meriç region for earthquake victims.
A bazaar will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023, between 11:00 and 16:00, with the slogan "Now is the time for unity", under the leadership of the youth, in Çilingir Mahallesi of the Sofulu Municipality.
The income from the charity bazaar, where everyone is invited, will be sent to the homeland of Türkiye for earthquake victims.
