Berat Night celebrated with enthusiasm in Yeni Mahalle Mosque
With the mevlit programmes organised by the Mufti's Office of Komotini in different mosques on Saturday night, 24 February, the Night of Beraat was celebrated with enthusiasm by the cognates in the Rhodope and Evros regions.
Yeni Mahalle Mosque was one of the places where the Mufti's Office organised a mevlit programme.
The programme was attended by İbrahim Şerif, Mufti of Komotini, Mesut Mehmet, elected Municipality Councillor of Komotini, executives from non-governmental organisations, and compatriots from Yeni Neighbourhood, other neighbourhoods and nearby villages.
After the call to prayer, the cognates performed the Isha prayer collectively.
After the prayer, Mufti İbrahim Şerif gave a sermon to the congregation on the meaning and importance of the night.
In the continuation of the programme, the religious officials of the Mufti's Office of Komotini recited Aşr-ı Şerif, hymns and Mevlid-i Şerif.
At the end of the programme, Mufti of Komotini İbrahim Şerif made the prayer.
The ladies who attended the mevlit event held in Yeni Mahalle Mosque followed the programme from the upper floor of the mosque.
During the programme, girls and boys provided rose water to the congregation in the mosque, and at the end of the programme, at the exit of the mosque, cakes and fruit juice were distributed to the congregation by the children.
