A special program was organized by the Mufti’s Office of Xanthi at the Upper Mosque in Ketenlik village to mark the occasion of Berat Night, heralding the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.

The event attracted a large number of local Turkish community members from Ketenlik, who gathered at the mosque to take part in the spiritual gathering. Turkey’s Consul General in Komotini, Aykut Ünal, also attended the event and extended his greetings to the community.

The program featured recitations of the Holy Qur’an, the Mevlid-i Şerif, and religious hymns performed by the Mufti’s Office’s clerics and the Ilahi Choir, all of which were met with great appreciation.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Xanthi Mufti Mustafa Trampa led a heartfelt and meaningful prayer, to which the entire congregation responded with a collective "Amin." Following the prayer, Mufti Trampa delivered a brief speech on the spiritual significance of Berat Night and the duties of Muslims during this sacred occasion.

In addition to Mufti Trampa and Consul General Ünal, the event was attended by MP Hüseyin Zeybek, Mustafçova Mayor Ahmet Kurt, opposition leaders Cemil Kabza and Mücahit Dükkancı, Xanthi Turkish Union President Ozan Ahmetoğlu, Çınar Association President Cengiz Ömer, and Western Thrace Minority Higher Education Association President Dr. Hüseyin Baltacı, along with many members of the local community.

After the event at Yukarı Mahalle Mosque, the guests were welcomed at the Ketenlik Library, where they were warmly received by the youth of the village. The young members of the community expressed their excitement and joy at hosting the distinguished guests. Both Mufti Trampa and Consul General Ünal delivered short speeches at the library. Mufti Trampa expressed his gratitude for the warm reception, while Consul General Ünal offered advice to the youth and emphasized the importance of frequent meetings in the future. He also conveyed his appreciation for their hospitality.

The final stop for the guests was the Ketenlik Sports Club, where they had the opportunity to engage in friendly conversations with the local youth.

It was noted that the Mufti’s Office of Xanthi organized Berat Night programs in several other mosques throughout the region.
