Batuhan Kaşifoğlu elected new president of Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association
The 57th Ordinary Congress of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association (BTTDD) was held with broad participation on Sunday at the Zeytinburnu Culture and Arts Center, where Batuhan Kaşifoğlu was elected as the organization’s new General President.
The congress brought together association members and numerous guests from across the Western Thrace Turkish community. The session was chaired by attorney Burhaneddin Hakgüder.
The election was held with a single candidate list. Following the vote, the 56th-term administration led by Hasan Küçük officially handed over responsibilities to the newly elected leadership.
According to the election results, 306 votes were cast, with 304 valid votes supporting Kaşifoğlu and his team, giving the new administration a strong mandate from the association’s membership.
Observers expect the new leadership, described as young and dynamic, to further strengthen advocacy efforts concerning the rights and representation of Turks from Western Thrace.
Batuhan Kaşifoğlu is also the son of former BTTDD president Erol Kaşifoğlu, who served the organization for many years.
