Ayşe Adem's poetry book introduced
Ayşe Adem's poetry book “Kuşa Benzeme Oyunu” (Bird Resemblance Game) was introduced in Komotini.
Dr. Ayşe Adem's poetry book "The Bird Resemblance Game" was introduced at the BIHLİMDER Cultural Center in Komotini on Saturday, June 3rd.
Poet Atakan Yavuz and Ali Ayçil from Istanbul also attended the promotion of the book as speakers.
"We are born into a language and that language becomes our homeland"
Stating that he still feels himself in Istanbul after coming to Komotini, he sees the people here as his relatives, and therefore he feels happy and safe, Poet Atakan Yavuz said:
“Literature is a tool. It is the path that leads to man. That's why I say I'm glad I started literature. Nice environment. I always meet smiling faces thanks to literature. If we had not had a connection with poetry, we would not have met Dr. Ayşe.
After various experiences, people begin to change and transform about language. We are born into a language and that language becomes our homeland. That's why I didn't feel like I left my homeland, actually because I stepped on the ground of language.
We can forget the importance and value of language and that it is our main reason for existence. In situations like these, we understand the value of it again.”
"Thank you all for keeping our beautiful Turkish alive here"
Poet Ali Ayçil stated that they came to Western Thrace for a very special reason, that a poet's book was published in a very important publishing house in Istanbul and that she is among the younger generation poets.
Ayçil said: “We congratulate her. The possibility of a language to survive depends on the mothers. Children learn language from their mothers. Especially in such minority areas, our clean Turkish is taught by our mothers. That's why we accept Ayşe Adem's poems as the common voice of mothers."
Poet Ayçil concluded his words as follows: "We thank you all for keeping our beautiful Turkish alive here.
Poets cannot pay their debts to you. If very valuable writers and valuable people will emerge from here in the future, it will be thanks to your precious labor and language.
For a country, Turkish taught by mothers and Turkish created by poets are of great importance. So, since we have poets and mothers, there is nothing to fear.”
At the end of the event, flowers were presented to poets from Türkiye. Then Ayşe Adem signed her book.
Kozlukebir Mayor Rıdvan Ahmet, Celal Bayar Minority High School Principal Tunalp Mehmet and teachers, poet Atakan Yavuz and poet Ali Ayçil from Türkiye as well as many poetry lovers attended the event.
