Asafoğlu re-elected as the FEP party chairman
Friendship Equality Peace Party 6th Ordinary General Assembly was held. In the election held at the end of the general assembly, Çiğdem Asafoğlu was re-elected as the party chairman.
In the 6th Ordinary General Assembly held in the Friendship Equality Peace (FEP) Party, the political organ of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority, the new chairman and central executive committee members of the party were elected.
The 6th Ordinary General Assembly of the Friendship Equality Peace Party was held on Sunday, November 27 at the Achilio Hotel in Komotini (Gumulcine).
The general assembly, attended by the elected muftis of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority, the heads of non-governmental organizations, the members of the board of directors and hundreds of compatriots from different villages of Western Thrace, started at 12:30.
At the opening of the program, a minute's silence was held for the late Dr. Sadik Ahmet, the founder and first chairman of the FEP Party, and for those who have passed away, who have served the cause of minorities.
The program continued with the determination of the members of the Board of Directors to manage the 6th Ordinary General Assembly. While the Chairman of the Council was Mehmet Emin, Emel İbram and Kerem Abdürrahimoğlu were elected as treasurers.
With the determination of the council, protocol speeches started.
First, FEP Party Chairman Çiğdem Asafoğlu took the floor. Later, FEP Party Former President Mustafa Ali Çavuş, FEP Party Honorary President Işık Sadık Ahmet and finally Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board Chairman and Komotini Mufti İbrahim Şerif gave speeches to the participants.
After the speeches, it was passed to the criticism and suggestions section, but as no member took the floor in this section, the work of the current chairman and the central executive committee was released.
At the end of the general assembly, elections were held for the party chairmanship and the central executive committee. The only candidate for the party chairmanship was former president Çiğdem Asafoğlu.
Çiğden Asafoğlu was re-elected as the Chairman of the FEP Party with the votes cast by the party members.
Along with the party chairman, 58 members of the central executive committee were elected with the votes of the party members.
A total of 774 members attended the 6th Ordinary General Assembly of the FEP Party.
All of the members cast their votes both for the chairman and the members of the central executive committee.
All 774 votes used were considered valid.
