Appeal accepted, Mümin Mümin candidate for councillor
Mayor of Yassıköy Mümin Mümin announced his candidacy for the mayor's office in the local elections to be held on 8 October 2023 and after consultations, he decided to support the Strong Unity List established under the leadership of Mehmet Mehmet and became a councillor candidate from Çepelli village.
However, Mümin Mümin was not among the candidates for the Yassıköy Municipality Assembly from the Susurköy region in the election manifesto announced at the Komotini Courthouse on Sunday last week and his candidature was not accepted.
The reason why Mayor Mümin Mümin could not be a candidate for councillor was a problem in the nomination application document. A legal appeal was filed regarding the problem that prevented Mümin's nomination.
The objection case was discussed on Wednesday, 13 September 2023 at Komotini Courthouse. The objection made by the lawyer of the Strong Unity List, which was a snag in the nomination application, was accepted by the court committee and the snag was eliminated.
The court's decision, announced today, Friday 15 September, paves the way for Yassıköy Mayor Mümün Mümin to stand as a candidate for election as a councillor.
The objection made for the other candidate Arif Mümin, who had a similar problem with Mümin Mümin, was accepted. Thus, both names took their places in the elections as candidates in the Strong Unity team.
