Event on "The fact of violence against women" to be organised in Komotini
Within the scope of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, an information event will be organised in Komotini to draw attention to violence against women.
On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, an information event on "The Phenomenon of Violence against Women", organised by the Shelter for Battered Women of the Municipality of Komotini in cooperation with the Rhodope Police Department and the Non-Profit Cultural, Educational and Sports Organisation of the Municipality of Komotini (ΔΚΕΠΠΑΚ), will be held on Friday, 1 December 2023 at 18.00.
The event will be organised at the Papanikolu Foundation located at Leoforos Vasileos Pavlou 1 in Komotini and will be open to all women.
The names who will inform the participants with their speeches at the event are as follows
1. Evangelia Liasou - District Prosecutor of Rhodope.
2. Sevasti Hatzifotiou - Professor of Social Work, Gender and Domestic Violence, Dean of the Faculty of Social Policy and Economic Sciences, Dimokritos University of Thrace.
3. Eleni Raikoudi - Senior Police Officer, Head of the Domestic Violence Intervention Team of the Komotini Police Department.
4. Nazli Osman - General Medicine Specialist at the Emergency Department of Komotini Hospital.
5. Vasiliki Theologi - Doctor of Criminology, Faculty of Law, Dimokritos University of Thrace.
6. Vasiliki Gantas - Administrative Director of the Women's Shelter for Victims of Violence in the Municipality of Komotini.
