Ahmet Kara: "The struggle will continue until our rights are restored"
Lawyer Ahmet Kara, President of the Union of Western Thrace Turkish Minority School Councillors, expressed the injustices committed during the election process of the councillor committee. Mr Kara said that they will continue to express the injustices committed in the field of minority education and will continue to struggle until these rights are restored.
Expressing the injustices made during the announcement of the elections of the councillor committee, Ahmet Kara said, "Our struggle will continue until our rights are restored. It does not matter from which position the struggle is fought."
Lawyer Ahmet Kara, President of the Union of Councillors, shared the following statements on his personal social media account on Monday, 4 November:
"The decision on the announcement of the Council Elections was issued on Friday, 1 December and according to the relevant calendar, nomination applications started on Saturday, 2 December. But for some reason, this decision was sent to schools on Monday 4 December.
In this way, two days are "eaten" from the already limited nomination application period. If we also take into account Saturday and Sunday, when schools are closed, there are only five days left to apply for candidature.
From the statements made by the authorities, the perception operation carried out through the press and the efforts to belittle every step taken for the improvement of minority education, it is very clear to what level the double standards have reached.
When we say that there is bad intentions in every step you take regarding Minority Education and when we object, we are targeted through your pencil pushers, collaborators and officials. So be it......
This struggle will continue until our rights are restored. It does not matter from which position the struggle is organised."
