Advisory Board condemns Israel

The Consultative Committee of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace (BTTADK) issued a message of condemnation regarding the events in Palestine.

In the statement of the Advisory Board, the following words were used: "Especially the hitting of the hospital where the wounded were treated and where hundreds of civilians took shelter as a safe zone has increased our concern one more time and deeply saddened us."

The statement also said that on Friday, 20 October, after the Friday prayer, a funeral prayer in absentia will be held for those who lost their lives.

The statement made by the Advisory Board is as follows:

"We are deeply concerned that as a result of the tension between Palestine and Israel that started on 7 October 2023, Israel cut off the supply of electricity, water, food and fuel to Gaza and caused the death of innocent people by using disproportionate force.

In particular, the hitting of the hospital where the wounded were treated and where hundreds of civilians took shelter as a safe zone has increased our concern and deeply saddened us. We strongly condemn Israel for causing civilian casualties. Violence will not benefit anyone, so we invite the parties to stay away from impulsive behaviour and to act with restraint. We wish Allah's mercy to our brothers and sisters who lost their lives in the attacks so far and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.

In order to stop the blood and tears, we once again call on the parties to renounce the use of force and to meet in the two-state solution understanding that has been carried out until today.

It should be known that sooner or later, those who directly target civilians and brutally hit places such as hospitals and schools in violation of the laws of war will inevitably be held accountable both before international law and in conscience.

We respectfully announce to the public that we have decided to perform the funeral prayer in absentia for our brothers and sisters who lost their lives in the attacks next Friday, following the Friday prayer, and to cover this issue in the sermons."
