The Coordination Board for Civil Protection held an emergency meeting today as the prefecture of Rodopi is in the 4th category in the Fire Risk Forecast Map.
Access to some areas in the Rhodope region banned

Due to the fact that the province of Rhodope is in the 4th category in the daily Fire Risk Forecast Map announced by the General Secretariat of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection for today (Monday 21 August 2023), an urgent meeting of the Civil Protection Coordination Board was held yesterday evening under the chairmanship of Nikos Chalikidis, Deputy Head of State for the Department of Rhodope, in order to prevent fire risks.

Due to the very high risk of fire, today, Monday 21 August 2023, with the decision of Nikos Chalikidis, Deputy Head of Region for the Rhodope Department, the following traffic bans in the following forest areas have been decided.

1- Nimfe forest in the Municipality of Komotini.

2- The forest area in the coastal area of Meşe in Komotini Municipality.

3- "Profiti Ilias" recreational area in the west of Yassıköy settlement of Yassıköy Municipality.

4- Alsos area located on the borders of Sapçı in the Municipality of Şapçı-Maronia.

5- Touristic forest area located in Imaret area of Şapçı-Maronia Municipality.

6- Coastal forest area in Imaret in the municipality of Şapçı-Maronya.

7- Coastal forest in Profiti Ilia in Imaret in the municipality of Şapçı-Maronia.

8- The forest of Kapsala coastal area in Imaret under the Municipality of Şapçı-Maronia.

9- The forest of the coastal area of Krioneri in the Municipality of Şapçı-Maronia.
