AA photojournalist Ayhan Mehmet’s shot selected as “Photo of the day” by The Guardian
Anadolu Agency’s (AA) photojournalist from Gümülcine, Ayhan Mehmet, has achieved another significant success in the international media. His photograph showing fishermen supporting protesting farmers in Golos (Volos) was selected yesterday (Wednesday, 10 December) as “Photo of the Day” by The Guardian.
The Guardian features a daily selection of standout images from news agencies and media outlets around the world. Mehmet’s protest scene captured at the Port of Golos was highlighted as one of the most striking images of the day.
This marks the second major recognition for the Western Thrace–born photojournalist by The Guardian. Previously, his photograph depicting women cooking over a large cauldron in the village of Zeynelli, İskeçe, was also chosen as “Photo of the Day.”
