Α visit to Komotini State Hospital by Nikos Tsalikidis

Eastern Macedonia and Thrace State Rhodope Unit Deputy Head Nikos Tsalikidis visited Komotini Sismanoglou State Hospital.

Local governor Tsalikidis visited also the area where the New Komotini General Hospital to be built.  He received information from the authorities about the work done so far.  

Nikos Tsalikidis met with Magda Giamustari, Director of Komotini Sismanoglou State Hospital.

During the meeting, issues such as the work around the hospital and the implementation of the infrastructure projects of the new general hospital of Komotini were discussed.

In the meeting, the issue of recruiting additional health and care personnel to the hospital was also discussed.
Work has started and continues for the renewal of the guardrails around the hospital facilities.

The infrastructure construction project, which includes interventions to the road network and electricity network of the region, where the construction of the New Komotini General Hospital with a budget of 4 million euros, will begin.

Meanwhile, the expropriation of the area and the construction of the round-trip road connection to the hospital have been completed.

Making a statement about his visits to the old hospital and the construction site where the new hospital will be built, Nikos Tsalikidis said:

"State Presidency supports the health sector in our region in practice. More than 4 million euros were financed from ESPA in the last programming period for the purchase of medical technological equipment for the General Hospital. For the same purpose, we requested 2.4 million resources in the new programming period.
We maintain the facilities of the old hospital, but we are working hard to complete the infrastructure of the New Komotini General Hospital. We are in contact with the Ministry of Health so that this project, which is of great importance for health, can be implemented as soon as possible.

Being aware of the long-standing problem of nurses and health personnel in the hospital, we accept the hospital management. We will submit requests to the Ministry of Health to finance additional doctor and nurse positions."
