2024 Alantepe Events starts from Basırlıköy
The three-day historical events to be held on 30-31 August and 1 September started today (Friday, 30 August) with the Mawlid-i Sharif and prayers at Basırlıköy Mosque, the village of Sinan Hasan, the 2024 Alantepe Agha.
The opening programme of the 2024 Alantepe Oil Wrestling and Cultural Events was attended by New Left Party Rodopi MP Özgür Ferhat, FEP Party Vice President Metin Hacıosman, Advisor to the President of the State of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Rıdvan Molla İsa, DMTE Assembly Member Ahmet Osman Pehlivan, Mayor of Kozlukebir, deputy mayors, councillors, President of the Association of Western Thrace Mosques and Religious Officers Erol Yoluç and cognates.
As every year, the guests who attended the first day of the traditional events were offered a meal by the Agha after Friday prayers.
Alantepe Aga Sinan Hasan will visit villages
One of the important traditions of Ata Misari events is that on the first day of the events, the Agha is taken from his house accompanied by drums and zurnas and then visits the villages and invites his compatriots to the events.
Aga Sinan Hasan also continues this tradition this year. The Aga, who served food to the participants of the opening of the events in his village, will then visit the villages of Kozlukebir Municipality and announce the start of the events to the cognates and invite them to Alantepe.
On Saturday and Sunday, the programme will continue in Alantepe with cultural shows and oil wrestling competitions and will end with concerts of famous artists from Türkiye.
