19th Ketenlik Youth Festival brings music and culture to Iskeçe
Organized by the Ketenlik Youth Association, the festival began on Friday, August 7. The opening day featured a performance by Greek singer Yorgos Çalikis, alongside traditional folk dances, cultural performances and other activities.
The second day of the festival, held on Saturday, August 8, featured a concert by Turkish singer Aynur Aydın, drawing strong interest from attendees. Various activities were held throughout the two-day event, while stands at the festival grounds also attracted a large number of visitors.
Among those attending the opening day were Mustafa Trampa, chairman of the Consultative Council of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Mufti of İskeçe; Hüseyin Zeybek, a member of parliament from İskeçe; Umut Yamık, Türkiye's Consul General's Deputy Consul in Gümülcine; Ahmet Kurt, mayor of Mustafçova; Bahri Belço, deputy chairman of the Friendship, Equality and Peace Party (FEP); representatives of minority institutions and organizations; and numerous members of the local Turkish minority community.
Held annually, the Ketenlik Youth Festival serves as a meeting point for young people and residents of the region, combining music and entertainment with activities aimed at preserving and promoting traditional culture.
The festival was organized with support from the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Regional Government, the Mustafçova Municipality and various sponsors.
