19-year-old girl who was hit by the police passes away
Young Ayşe, who was hit by a policeman in Mizanli village of Xanthi last Wednesday, died today at noon.
The death of young Ayşe caused a shock in Xanthi. While her family and relatives are deeply saddened, an investigation is ongoing against the police officer who later confessed to hitting the young girl.
The family of the young girl had issued a statement through their lawyers this morning and stated that they were closely following the ongoing investigation.
In Mizanli village of Xanthi, on the evening of Wednesday 6 December, 19-year-old Ayşe was hit by a vehicle while she was out walking her dog and it was initially stated that the vehicle that hit her fled the scene. However, it was later reported in the local press that the person who hit the 19-year-old young girl was a policeman, that he did not flee the scene and called the ambulance himself, but a few days after the incident, he confessed to the crime and admitted that he hit the young girl himself. According to the news reports, the police officers at the police station were also suspicious of the strange behaviour of their friend and the damage to the vehicle he was driving.
While no official statement has been made about the incident yet, when the investigation is completed, it will be understood whether the police officer who hit the young girl fled the scene after hitting the girl or how exactly the incident occurred. The public is impatiently waiting for the incident to be clarified.
The statement regarding the funeral of the young girl is expected to be made in the coming hours.
