15 July martyr Mustafa Cambaz commemorated with an event in his village
Mustafa Cambaz, Photo Reporter of Yani Şafak Newspaper, who was martyred during the coup attempt in the motherland Türkiye on 15 July 2016 by FETO members, was commemorated with a mevlid event.
Cambaz, who was born in Menetler village of Kozlukebir Municipality and continued his life in the motherland Türkiye, was targeted by the bullets of the traitors and martyred on the night of 15 July, when the great Turkish nation wrote a great epic against the traitors. On Monday evening, 15 July 2024, Mevlid-i Şerif and the Holy Qur'an were read at Menetler Mosque for Mustafa Cambaz and other 15 July martyrs from Western Thrace who were martyred in the coup attempt.
The ceremony was attended by İbrahim Şerif, President of the Advisory Board of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and also Mufti of Komotini, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Komotini Aykut Ünal, Vice Consul General Baris Çulha, Rodopi MP Özgür Ferhat, Mayor of Kozlukebir Erdem Hüseyin, Deputy Mayor of Kozlukebir Özkan Yusuf, President of Kozlukebir Municipality Hope List Tarkan Multaza, President of BAKEŞ Dr. Hüseyin Bostancı, President of Komotini Turkish Youth Union Sedat Hasan, President of Thrace Tobacco Producers Cooperative Sinan Ahmet, Murat Ahmet representing Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association, President of Western Thrace Mosques Clergy Association Erol Yoluç and religious officials attended the ceremony.
During the ceremony, mevlit and hymns were recited by the religious officials and prayers were made. The prayer of the event was made by İbrahim Şerif, President of the Consultative Committee of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Mufti of Komotini. İbrahim Şerif also made a short speech indicating the meaning and importance of the day. Reminding that Mustafa Cambaz was born in Menetler village and lived in this village, Şerif said: "Mustafa Cambaz was a person who gave honour and pride to us and his family. Because Cambaz was a person who was martyred with two bullets in his chest at the moment when his family put a stop to the traitors who wanted to dominate the destiny of a nation. The pain of his death burned them and our Western Thrace, but what a beautiful honour that he was martyred only from Menetler village of Western Thrace in the Balkan geography. Today, when you go to the 15 July Museum, you will see the name of Mustafa Cambaz among the 252 martyrs." Consul General of Turkey in Komotini Aykut Ünal stated that 8 years have passed since the treacherous coup attempt and that they commemorate 252 martyrs every year: "We pray for our unity and for the souls of our martyrs. May Allah be pleased with them. They wanted to shake the foundation of our Republic, but they could not. We have seen on this occasion how strong we are." At the end of the event, the participants were served a meal.
