"Xanthi Turkish Union Youth Meetings" start
The first event was held on Tuesday 5 December 2023 at the ITB clubhouse. The President of Xanthi Turkish Union Ozan Ahmetoğlu attended as the first guest upon the invitation of the youth. The first "Youth Meeting" was held with an intense participation.
The event started with the opening speech of Önder Şabanoğlu, ITB Youth Branch Officer. Afterwards, Xanthi Turkish Union Youth Branch President Mümün Kara thanked the President of ITB Ozan Ahmetoğlu and the young people who participated in the programme.
In his presentation, ITB President Ozan Ahmetoğlu addressed the issue of "Xanthi Turkish Union - History, Mission and Future".
With the help of a slide show and historical photographs, Ahmetoğlu explained the process since the first establishment of the association. By talking about the first location of the association and the story of its establishment, the process that has continued until today and especially the "There are no Turks in Western Thrace" policy and the struggle for rights that started with the removal of the signboard of the association and has been going on for 40 years was explained to the young people. President Ozan Ahmetoğlu emphasised that the struggle for the rights of the association will be undertaken by the next generation, namely the young people following the programme, and the young people were also informed about the activities and courses offered under the roof of the association. The event, which was followed with great interest by the young people, ended with the question and answer session and the performance of the 90th Anniversary Anthem of Xanthi Turkish Union.
