Erdogan: 'We exist to reduce our enemies, not to increase them'
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking to journalists, touched on relations with Greece.
Erdogan stated that if Mitsotakis is elected Prime Minister, he can meet with him at the NATO meeting.
Erdogan said, "There is re-election in Greece on June 25.
Mitsotakis said that if he is elected, he will look for an opportunity to meet with you at NATO.
On the question of what kind of prediction do you make about relations with Greece in the new period, he said:
"After our election, Mitsotakis called and congratulated me.
It was such a process. Therefore, if such a thing happens in Vilnius, we will not hesitate to discuss it.
We are two neighbour countries. As long as there are no messages given back and forth from time to time, we are after reducing hostilities, not increasing them.
So we'll talk about them there as well.
Of course there is something here.
We know what we're going to say.
What's that?
'Mr. Prime Minister, stop this armament now.
So where are you going with this armament?
America is constantly giving you a lot of guns.
Do you buy it because it is free, or do you buy it like this because the money doesn't want stamps?'
We'll probably talk about them.
Also know that we exist to reduce our enemies, not to increase them.
This is Türkiye, this is Erdogan.”
