3rd International Congress of Ottoman Studies to be held in Istanbul
The third of OSARK, one of the most prestigious meetings of Ottoman history researchers, the first of which was organized in Sakarya in 2015 and the second in Tirana, the capital of Albania in 2018, will be held in Istanbul this year with the participation of 252 academics, researchers and historians from different countries.
Paper holders who applied to OSARK from different countries, which was initiated to provide a perspective for the future by creating a platform that would bring together Ottoman researchers and direct the studies on the subject, were invited to Istanbul after the work of the organizing committee.
Papers accepted at this year's congress were classified in two main categories at the congress.
In the first category, some important issues of Ottoman history will be discussed under thematic titles in the workshop concept. In the other category, in the form of special sessions, researchers will present their own scientific studies.
The Congress will be held in the five halls of Ziraat Bank Library located in the North Campus of IMU.
Congress contributed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Atatürk High Council of Culture, Language and History, Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, Turkish Historical Society, Sakarya University Ottoman Studies Center, Üsküdar Municipality, and Turkish Airlines, 7 September It will start with keynote speeches at 09.30 on Wednesday and will last for three days.
Papers expected to make significant contributions to the Ottoman history literature will also be published as a book after the congress.
