Fire in forest area in Lasithi, Crete; evacuation of nearby villages

A fire is in progress in a forest area in Mavros Kolymbos, Lasithi, Crete. According to the Fire Department, the fire broke out shortly before 7 a.m. in a forest area near the village Mavros Kolymbos, while strong winds of 7 to 8 Beaufort were blowing.
