MeRA25 Party MP Kleon Gregoriadis warned Greece against Turkey saying 'we need to learn from history, great powers are those who use us for their interests'
After the rise of tensions between Turkey and Greece in recent weeks Greek MP Gregoriadis warned the Mitsotakis Government on his social media account.
"This year is the 100th anniversary of the Asia Minor Catastrophe. As a nation, we must learn from history. The Great Powers are exploiting the small, using the small for their own benefit, ignoring the pain they may cause" he said.
While warning the government against the game of foreign powers "Just as in 1922 the Great Powers brutally used Greece against Ataturk's soldiers to seize the oil-rich regions of the Ottoman Empire, so now they are using us for their own gain" he pointed.
He also drew attention to the fact that Greece has turned into a major US base saying "American soldiers are settling in Crete, Alexandroupoli, Larissa, and other regions. To put it bluntly, at the moment, Greece has turned into a major American base" and he continued "They scare the citizens by saying that Greece will help our country as the so-called 'protector' to make acceptable the fact that it has turned into an American base".
"There is an enemy 'as a pawn of the USA' who without any information, discussion and transparency engages the country in a general war. You follow what the embassy tells you, and the rest of us learn nuggets of truth in statements from US officials, such as the US Secretary of Defense. Should we call the Ambassador in the present and former parliament to inform us as priests of monarchs?" Greek MP finally emphasized.
