Votes cast in Greece sent to Türkiye
The ballot papers containing the votes cast by the voters registered at the Consulate General of Türkiye in Athens-Piraeus for the Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary General Elections to be held on 14 May were sent to Istanbul.
The voting process, which started on 29 April at the Consulate General of Athens and Piraeus, ended yesterday evening at 21.00 local time.
The sealed ballot sacks were transported to Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport in Athens by a convoy of vehicles accompanied by diplomatic couriers and party representatives.
The sacks were taken to Istanbul by a Turkish Airlines (THY) plane to be delivered to the election board.
The voting process, which started in the last week of April in some countries in Europe and in the first week of May in others, for the Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary General Elections to be held in Türkiye on 14 May, has ended in many countries.
