Citizens who want to go to the Greek islands from Türkiye and visit the 10 islands in the Aegean with a 7-day tourist visa are searching which 10 islands can be visited with a visa at the border. So, how much does a visa at the gate cost?

Greek islands near the Turkish coast have started visa application at the door for Turkish citizens. The application, which was announced by Prime Minister Kiryakos Mitsotakis during President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Greece on 7 December, had also received the approval of the European Union (EU) Commission within the framework of normalisation steps between the two countries.

How much is the visa fee for Greece?
Within the scope of the application to be valid on 10 Greek islands, Turkish citizens will be able to visit the islands for up to 7 days by paying 60 Euros. According to DW Turkish, passport control and fingerprint registration will be carried out at the entrance. Although Greece is included in Schengen, the free movement zone within the EU, Turkish citizens will not be required to apply for a Schengen visa, nor will they be able to cross from Greece to other Schengen countries.

10 islands to visit with a 7-day tourist visa
The islands where the application is valid are Rhodes, Lesbos, Limni, Chios, Chios, Samos, İleryoz, Kalymnos, İstanköy, Sömbeki and Meis. In some small islands, it is planned to start the visa application at the door in June.

Greek official: There is a high demand from Turks
Vassilis Vayiannakis, President of the Rhodes Port Fund, said on the first day of the application today, "The new system is ready. There is a high demand from Turkish visitors. There are no boats planned to dock for today. Boats will start arriving within this week," he said.

While a new visa terminal was opened for Turkish visitors in Rhodes, the port in Lesbos, which is expected to be flooded with visitors, was renovated.

Miçotakis stated that the application will revitalise tourism and help local economies by encouraging visits during off-peak periods, noting that the fast visa will be issued all year round, not just in the summer months.
