Türkiye appoints Mebşure Taşkın as new consul general in Rhodes
Mebşure Taşkın has officially assumed her post as Türkiye’s new Consul General in Rhodes, beginning her duties on Monday, September 15.
In a message marking the start of her tenure, Taşkın expressed her pride and excitement at taking on the role. She emphasized that safeguarding the unity, well-being, rights, and interests of citizens and the Turkish community in Rhodes and its surroundings would be among her top priorities. She also pledged to further strengthen commercial, cultural, and social ties between Türkiye and the region.
Taşkın underlined that consular services will be carried out efficiently and effectively, reminding citizens that appointments can be made via the e-Consulate system. She also noted the availability of the Foreign Ministry’s 24/7 Consular Call Center and emergency hotline for support outside working hours.
“The doors of our Consulate General in Rhodes will always remain open to our citizens and compatriots in the region,” Taşkın said. “I look forward to meeting you in the coming period and extend my warm regards on behalf of myself and my colleagues.”
Biography
Born in Milas in 1973, Mebşure Taşkın graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History and Geography, Department of English Language and Literature. She joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1996, serving in various capacities both in Ankara and abroad, including at Türkiye’s Permanent Mission to NATO, as well as postings in Nicosia, Karlsruhe, and Toronto.
Taşkın is married and the mother of two children.
