Two Turkish firefighting aircraft participated in the extinguishing works carried out yesterday against the ongoing fire on the Greek island of Rhodes

Fires continue in many parts of Greece. In order to bring these fires under control, other countries also extended a helping hand to Greece.

The neighbouring country Türkiye sent both a team and two firefighting planes and a helicopter to Greece to support the firefighting efforts.

Two firefighting planes from Türkiye participated in the fire extinguishing works on Rhodes Island yesterday. Turkish firefighting planes, which participated in the extinguishing works lasting 6 hours and 10 minutes, dropped 126 tonnes of water by dropping 42 drops during the intervention.

The Consulate General of Türkiye in Rhodes, which stands by its neighbour Greece, which is in a difficult situation with fires, made a post on social media about the extinguishing works on the island.

In the post made in Greek from the Consulate General account: "The two Turkish firefighting planes that participated today in the extinguishing of the fire in Rhodes, which lasted a total of 6 hours and 10 minutes from 14:55 to 18:00, dropped 126 tonnes of water with 42 drops. After refuelling, the planes took off again at 19:00 and continued their extinguishing work."
