Turkish and Greek communists met in Athens

The Secretary General of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Dimitris Kutsumbas met with the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) Kemal Okuyan in Αthens.

The Secretary General of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Dimitris Kutsumbas met with the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) Kemal Okuyan at the Headquarters of the Communist Party of Greece in Perissos, Athens.

In the meeting, where mutual information and evaluations were made on the developments in Greece and Turkey, developments and improvement as well as problems in the world and especially the war in Ukraine were discussed.

After the meeting, a joint statement was issued by the two parties. In the joint statement stated: “The Communist Party of Greece and Turkey calls on our common banner, Proletarian Internationalism, under the friendship and solidarity of our peoples, the working class and other popular strata to strengthen their struggle against the imperialist war in Ukraine with the intervention of “Turkey and Greece are actively participating in the plans of the aggressive imperialist NATO alliance,” the statement said, adding, “They are actively participating in military exercises for the encirclement of Russia.”

They have become the base of NATO's war against other peoples and also the target of retaliation by their rivals. Russia's military operation against Ukraine, which could set the whole region on fire, took place within the framework of this inter-imperialist rivalry.
