Swearing-in ceremony in the Parliament

At the swearing-in ceremony held in the Greek Parliament, 300 deputies, who were entitled to enter the parliament in the 25 June elections, took the oath and officially took office.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by the previous parliamentary first vice-president, Nikitas Kaklmanis.
At the ceremony, the majority of the deputies took an oath by pressing on the Bible, while the Muslim Turkish deputies from Western Thrace took their oaths on the Qur'an.
Most of the deputies in the SYRIZA, KKE and Plevsi Eleftherias parties chose to take the political oath.
After the general elections held on 25 June in the country, 8 political parties were represented in the parliament.
158 from the New Democracy Party, 48 from SIRIZA, 32 from PASOK, 20 from the Greek Communist Party (KKE), 12 from the Spartans Party, 12 from the Greek Solution Party, Niki ( 10 deputies from the Victory) Party and 8 deputies from the Freedom Watch Party (Plevsi Eleftherias) were entitled to enter the parliament.
