Ruling party's 2.9 points lowered after the train crash

The first survey after the train accident in Tempi revealed that the gap between the two major political parties has narrowed significantly. The ruling New Democracy Party (NDP) fell by 2.9 percentage points in a poll conducted by public opinion research firm Marc. It was also noted that the difference between NDP and SYRIZA decreased to 4.6 percent for the first time.

According to the survey results, while the decline in the PASOK lot continued, it was observed that there was an increase in the MERA 25 lot. According to the survey, while the vote rate of SYRIZA did not change, an increase was seen in the Greek Solution Party.

It was pointed out that the survey, which was conducted after the train crash that stunned Greece, took place at a time when the anger of the citizens was at its peak. According to the results of the survey, the voting rate of the parties was as follows:

New Democracy Party: 29.6 percent
SYRIZA: 25 percent
PASOK: 9.7 percent
KKE: 5.6 percent
Greek Solution: 3.9 percent
MERA 25: 3.5 percent
Undecided: 10 percent

Meanwhile, SYRIZA Party Strategic Communications Officer Nasos Iliopoulos accused the public opinion research company, which he accuses of being close to the Prime Ministry, of conducting "damage control" with a survey conducted at a time when the bodies of those who lost their lives in the train accident were being removed. “The company is trying to do damage control on behalf of Mitsotakis. Even shame is feeling a shame.” included his comment.
