Road fatalities rise in Western Greece and the Peloponnese in 2024

More road fatalities were recorded in 2024 across the road networks of Western Greece and the Peloponnese, according to data from the Hellenic Statistical Authority.
In Western Greece, both traffic accidents and injuries increased compared to the previous year. In contrast, while the Peloponnese experienced a decline in overall traffic incidents and injuries, the number of fatalities rose.
Specifically, in the three regional units of Western Greece, 422 traffic accidents were recorded in 2024, resulting in 52 fatalities and 559 injuries. In comparison, 398 accidents occurred in 2023, leading to 45 fatalities and 480 injuries.
Meanwhile, in the Peloponnese 256 traffic accidents occurred in 2024, causing 52 deaths and 292 injuries.
